My name is Jatoyia Armour, a little information about me, I was born and raised in Georgia.I have a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education from Georgia State University with a concentration in Mathematics and Reading and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Mathematics from Liberty University. In addition, I have a Math Endorsement for P-5 grades. I have been in the classroom successfully for three years, and I have experience in leadership in Mathematics as a mentor, a facilitator, and a Coordinator. I have also provided Professional Development School-wide and county-wide.
Middle School is an exciting time for any child and an important part of setting up their future success in school. My goal is to ensure that I do my part in keeping them headed in the right direction in mathematics. My number one goal as an educator of mathematics is to foster relationships between students, teachers and math. I want students to love math and if not, to at least appreciate what math can do for them. If I can make sure that happens to at least some of my students, I know that, as a teacher, I have made a difference.
Math has been my passion for many years, and I’m excited to explore the world through patterns as we work to create a classroom of critical thinking mathematicians.
